Thousands JIS Construction Workers Vaccinated Against COVID-19

According to him, PT. Jakarta Project (Jakpro) is optimistic that JIS/Stadium Kita construction will be completed on target. Although there were many challenges during the construction, ranging from unpredictable weather to prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

"COVID-19 pandemic also has implications for material delays or project logistics from the country of origin," he added.

Number of workers were also declined because some of them chose to quit to return to their hometowns.

"From total 2,000 workers decreased to 1,500 workers during the pandemic. It becomes our challenge since the construction work must be completed on target," he asserted.

Even so, PT. Jakpro together with Joint Operation (KSO) for JIS Project carried out various innovations and strategies thus construction of this FIFA-standard stadium remained productive and could be completed on target.

"We are optimistic, because during the pandemic, collaboration is the key. This way, we can mitigate any challenges and potential delays from the start," he conveyed.

His side also tightened health protocols in Stadium Kita project area. Project area is made sterile because only field workers are allowed to enters. In addition, its facilities are also sprayed with disinfectant twice a week.

The management, he continued, also carries out health monitoring twice a day, from checking worker's body temperature, health, and requiring workers to report their condition to contractor's PIC.

"Workers who have just arrived at project site will undergo self-isolation for two weeks. During observation period, workers are still working in separate area that don't mix with other workers. While suppliers and guests who come to the project site are required to bring result of antigen test or antibody rapid test that has been taken a day before," he explained.
